One evening a month in Basel for the people building, funding and running tech companies. Short pitches, real conversation, and enough room to meet everyone in the room.

Doors open at 18:30.

At 19:00 the organizers say a few words and start a structured networking round, built so you meet the people you came for instead of a room full of strangers.

At 19:30 the startups take the floor. Five minutes each on the idea, the business model and the market, then questions from the room. No slide marathon.

Who comes: founders raising or about to raise, investors and operators, and the people who advise them. We keep the room at fifteen so you leave with names instead of business cards.

Where: L’Atelier, Elisabethenstrasse 15, Basel. Doors at 18:30.

🚀 Our first Basel AI & Vibe Coding meetup!

Hey everyone! Let’s get together for our first meetup on Saturday, 21 November 👋

It’ll be a relaxed chance to meet each other, chat about AI and vibe coding, and share what we’ve been building—or would like to build.

A few things we can get into:
• Short intro round, and if anyone would like to showcase some side projects, that'd be great. I am happy to do that, of course.
• Side projects, experiments and ideas.
• AI tools we’re using and what’s working well.
• Tips, questions and things we’re stuck on.

Whether you’re already building apps, just getting started or simply curious, you’re very welcome.

Bring your laptop if you’d like to show something or explore an idea together. Coming along just for a chat is equally welcome—no preparation or finished project needed!

  How to Make Your Models More Efficient?
  As AI becomes increasingly widespread, the demand for computational resources and energy continues to rise, both during training and inference. Whether you're working with large or small models, generative AI or traditional machine learning, there are ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise environmental impact.
  Merve holds a PhD in Computer Science and has spent the past decade working on making machine learning more efficient. In this talk, she will share practical approaches, real world examples, and the tradeoffs involved in improving model efficiency.
• Claudio von Planta-Thamboo, Staff Data & AI Engineer @ Swisscom: Turning Enterprise Knowledge into Action: AI Agents for Data Modernization
  How can AI accelerate data migration when the hardest work is understanding what already exists? Claudio von Planta-Thamboo will present his team’s approach to migrating a legacy data warehouse to a modern data platform on AWS. Their accelerator gives AI agents access to enterprise context through an ontology knowledge graph, helping them enrich metadata, align datasets with the established enterprise data model, and adapt legacy transformations and dashboards. Attendees will learn how knowledge graphs, human oversight, and reusable Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools fit together in this architecture, and how work done for migration can lay the foundation for AI-first data engineering.
• Boas Loeb, CPO & Co-Founder @ AIcoach LTD:
  Less is more: Why our AI coach learned to forget
  For an AI coach, remembering what users said before is crucial - but remembering everything turns out to be the wrong goal. Boas Loeb, co-founder and chief product officer of AIcoach.chat, an AI coaching platform used by organisations such as NHS Elect, shares how his team built an elaborate memory system and then had to simplify it. Today their coach’s memory borrows from how human memory works and is shaped by what coaching conversations actually needs: it keeps mainly what is worth exploring in a future session, links what keeps coming up again and again, and regularly forgets and reorganises the rest. Attendees will learn why more memory often makes AI less helpful, how to derive memory decisions from their own use case, and practical lessons for anyone building or using AI that “knows” its users.

After a few quiet years, our group is back, now as AI-Native Org Lab, and with a new question: what happens to teams, roles and decisions when AI agents join the work?

For our first in-person evening, Breeze Dong shares the story behind her book The Living Organization: The New Operating Model for Flourishing in the AI-Native Era, co-written with Peng Wang:
• why organizations built for the machine age struggle to absorb AI
• the five pillars of a "living" organization, from distributed authority to human–agent governance
• what surprised her while writing it, and what she is still unsure about

Then it's your turn. In a small group we'll test the ideas against your own organizations: what fits, what doesn't, what you are already trying.
