🇨🇭 Tech Events in Switzerland

Switzerland's tech-event calendar punches well above the country's size, anchored by Zurich (ETH and the deep ML-research community around it), Geneva (policy, research institutes), Basel (bio and health tech), Bern, and Lausanne (EPFL). Active cities on Brainberg right now include Zurich, Geneva, Bern, Luzern, Lausanne, Basel, Lugano, and Martigny. Brainberg aggregates listings from multiple event platforms and community calendars into a single European feed, so the full schedule for the country shows up in one chronological view instead of spread across separate platforms.

Tech Leadership Circle: Leading Teams through AI Transformation

Zurich, 🇨🇭 Switzerland

The hardest part of AI transformation isn't the technology. It's the humans. Join other tech leaders for an honest reckoning.

Everyone's talking tools, timelines, ROI. Almost no one is talking about what it actually feels like to lead a team through AI-driven change. The fear underneath "just implement it." The resistance you can't quite name. The quiet sense that the deal between employer and employee is being rewritten — while everyone pretends it's business as usual.

This Tech Leadership Circle is for leaders looking to bridge that gap.

We're bringing tech leaders together to look honestly at how AI is reshaping organisations from the inside — workflows, roles, culture, trust.

Three senior tech leaders join our panel to share what's worked, and what hasn't, as they've navigated their own teams through AI-driven change:

  • Marco-Andrea Buchmann, Head of Applied Science at Zalando
  • Dr. Maria Fay, Business AI Strategy Lead Switzerland at SAP
  • Irina Wolf, Team Lead Hardware at Wingtra

There will be a chance to bring your questions to the panel and have them answered by the experts. Come curious and leave with new insights.

Agenda

17:45 - Doors open

18:00 - Intro and welcome by Hello 50:50 World

18:05 - Panel discussion and Q&A

18:50 - Conclusions and final remarks

19:00 - Networking & Apéro

20:15 - End

Who should join?

Mid-level tech leaders and managers - Team Leads, Tech Leads, (Senior) Managers, Product Managers, People Managers, Department Heads - anyone guiding their team through AI-driven change who wants to do it thoughtfully, not just quickly.

Führung ist kein Einzelsport

Luzern, 🇨🇭 Switzerland

🕓 Agenda
17:25 Arrival and get-together
17:30 Welcome and short introduction
17:35 Paper discussion
18:25 Wrap-up and open exchange
18:30 End of event
📘 Preparation
Please read the selected article in advance so that you're familiar with the main ideas and key concepts. We won't present the article in detail, instead, we'll focus our time on discussing its content, insights, and real-world implications.
Paper:
A Global Workspace in Language Models ("J-Space")
A global workspace in language models
Published by Anthropic (Interpretability team).
The research presents evidence that Claude has developed a small, privileged set of internal neural patterns, the "J-space," which functions like the global workspace known from theories of human consciousness: the model can report, control, and reason with its contents, while most of its processing runs automatically outside of it. The technique also allows reading thoughts the model doesn't say out loud, with interesting implications for interpretability, AI safety, and the question of machine consciousness.
For preparation, reading the article linked above is sufficient. If you're interested in the details, you can also read the full paper: http://transformer-circuits.pub/2026/workspace/index.html
📍 Location & Registration

  • We are welcomed at the inpeek AG office (Bogenschützenstrasse 9) in the PostParc building next to the train station.

  • The event will be held in english

The Caretaker Model & Has SRE Become the New Ops?

Zurich, 🇨🇭 Switzerland

Two thought-provoking talks on team ownership and the evolving role of operations, two experienced speakers from the Swiss DevOps community, and plenty of networking opportunity. We are very much looking forward to kicking off the autumn season of DevOps Meetup Zurich.
Here's what's planned for the evening:
17:30 - 18:00 - Arrival and first drinks
18:00 - 18:45 - The Caretaker Model: Take over responsibility from idea to feedback by Urs Enzler
18:45 - 19:30 - Has SRE Become a New Ops? by Oleg Mayko
19:30 - 20:30 - Networking, Open Space & More drinks*

The Caretaker Model: Take over responsibility from idea to feedback
The Agile Software Development Manifesto calls for finding better ways to develop software.
We left Scrum behind because, among other things, we learned faster than the sprint was long, and the sprint blocked us more than it supported us. We needed a more adaptive approach that focuses on feedback.

We found a way of working that better supports us by separating the cycles for planning, improvement, retrospectives, delivery, and feedback. And the opportunity for every team member to contribute from start to finish has greatly increased team motivation. Finally, focusing on flow allowed us to reduce synchronisation points, such as meetings and handovers, and to gain significant efficiency. This is the Caretaker Model.

In this presentation, I explain how the Caretaker Model works, why it suits us much better, and why it might suit you and your team as well.

Urs Enzler
Software Architect @ Calitime AG
Urs Enzler is a software architect and developer specialising in the .NET platform and Azure. Passionate about building products with a rapid and continuous feedback cycle, he embraces agile principles and continuous delivery. In addition to working on the TimeRocket time tracking product, he is a consultant on software architecture and technical aspects of continuous delivery teamwork, such as evolvable design, test-driven development, and the like. Beyond his work, Urs co-organises the .Net Usergroup Zentralschweiz and shares his insights on www.planetgeek.ch.

Has SRE Become a New Ops?
Google set the bar high, but we have seen in the industry that SRE practices have often been misused, and many organizations just rebrand DevOps teams into SRE teams. In this talk, Oleg briefly walks through the history of SRE, why many have seen a silver bullet in it, and possible causes why many people think that SRE is just modern Ops.

Oleg Mayko
Senior System Engineer @ Swisscom
SRE enthusiast and co-founder of the SRE community at Swisscom. I’m passionate about all things Kubernetes, specifically when it comes to deploying and securing applications reliably in K8s.

Startup Pitch & Themed Networking Zurich | Unlock Your Idea

Zurich, 🇨🇭 Switzerland

You've been workshopping your idea with ChatGPT, not real founders. We fix that. Themed tables, 5 live pitches, one Zurich room - 3 hours

Most of us are in the same loop. You have an idea. You workshop it with ChatGPT, read another newsletter, tell three friends who don't quite get it. The idea stays in your head. Or worse — it never gets the kind of pushback that would have made it sharper.

Research on creative work is clear: people who articulate their idea to like-minded peers begin to understand it deeper. Quality feedback isn't validation — it's the thing that changes how you see your own work.

We mix the room on purpose. Different industries see the same process from different angles — that's where value compounds. We ask for your LinkedIn in registration so we can group you with the right people, not random tables.

How the evening runs (3 stages)

Stage 1 — Themed Networking

You vote on the night's themes through the registration form (Fundraising, HR, GTM, Product, Pricing, Hiring — whichever wins the room). We group you by background. Each group's representative shares the conversation's main takeaway on stage. Featured contributors get a Featured Founder spotlight on ascentvalley.com — that's how the conversation scales across the ecosystem.

Stage 2 — Pitches

5 curated startups present their idea for live feedback and investor introductions. After the event, we add them to our private founder database and route their application to the right investors inside the Ascent Valley network.

Stage 3 — Chill & Network

The structured part wraps. The bar stays open. The connections you started solidify here — most of our repeat attendees say this is where the real value lands.

Who's in the room

  • Accelerator representatives — talent and dealflow scouts from Zurich-based and EU-wide programs
  • Investors — angels, fund representatives, scouts from syndicates
  • Founders, Pre-seed to Series A — building across SaaS, AI, ClimateTech, FinTech, ConsumerTech
  • Operators — PMs, engineering leads, GTM leaders from scaling startups
  • Entrepreneurs across industries — fresh perspective is the point
  • Founders traveling through Zurich — from Tel Aviv, Berlin, London, NYC, Lisbon nodes
  • Hiring leads from companies actively scaling teams

About Ascent Valley

Ascent Valley is a 3-layer ecosystem: Community, DealFlow, Events. Our mission is to break local boundaries and enable cross-region growth through real connection between founders, operators, and investors.

Philosophy: IDEA → PROCESS → RESULT.
