You can pay for your drinks with Bitcoin over the Lightning Network. So make sure to bring your Lightning wallet or ask us about how to set one up when you join.

Von Kryptos, Aktien, Startups, Immobilien und anderen Anlagentypen hin zu relevanten wirtschaftlichen, geopolitischen und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen. Our Stammtisch about crypto, stocks, startups, real estate & other investments always takes place on the 2nd Friday of the month starting 18:00. We have been meeting monthly for over 3 years.

The Stammtisch in Bern was originally set up so that the crypto community could meet regularly to discuss and philosophize about current developments.

The Stammtisch and our conversations have evolved over the years. From cryptos, stocks, startups, real estate and other types of investments to relevant economic, geopolitical and social developments. If you are interested in these topics, you are welcome to join us!

The research presents evidence that Claude has developed a small, privileged set of internal neural patterns, the "J-space," which functions like the global workspace known from theories of human consciousness: the model can report, control, and reason with its contents, while most of its processing runs automatically outside of it. The technique also allows reading thoughts the model doesn't say out loud, with interesting implications for interpretability, AI safety, and the question of machine consciousness.

• We are welcomed at the inpeek AG office (Bogenschützenstrasse 9) in the PostParc building next to the train station.
• Although meetup.com limits the capacity to 10 registrations (we don't pay for additional capacity), the event is not limited. If you don't secure an ordinary spot, just join the waitlist, you'll still be very welcome! This helps us plan and know how many people to expect.

Welcome to the Nix Meetup in Bern.

We especially want to welcome beginners and everyone who has never heard of Nix before. The only requirements are an open mind and a willingness to learn something new.

Doors will open at 18:00
The talks will start at 18:30:

• Andreas Zweili (Nebucatnetzer) will talk about a small and practical project that is actually used in production. It uses Nix for development environments plus their related services and building containers and running tests in GitLab CI.
• You? We are looking for a second talk, which can also be a short lightning talk. Contact us!

Afterward, we will get our hands dirty and discuss Nix with all its perks and flaws, so bring your laptop for some hacking 💻

Es geht weiter mit dem Bärner JS Talk 26-2

Auch im 2026 tragen BEGASOFT, Iterativ und Software Catering gemeinsam diese Meetup-Reihe für die JavaScript-Community der Region Bern – praxisnah, offen und mit Raum für Austausch.

Am Mittwoch, 26. August 2026, ab 17.00 Uhr ist es wieder so weit: Die Bärner JS Talks finden erneut bei BEGASOFT (Laupenstrasse 17) statt.

Auf folgende Inputs könnt ihr euch freuen:

Talk Nr 1 - Ich baue zu viele Tools?
Speaker: David Dal Busco

In den letzten Jahren habe ich juno.build gebaut, eine serverless Platform auf der Web Apps in WASM Containern deployen können, ganz ohne DevOps.

Das Projekt wurde dieses Jahr deprecated, was schlussendlich eine Gelegenheit für mich war, neue Technologien auszuprobieren und damit Tools zu bauen: von einer Pipeline mit Claude und Telegram für Newsletter, über eine WebAssembly Sandbox als Ersatz für Node und Docker, bis zu einer self-hosted Web Analytics Platform ohne UI, die nur über einen LLM Client via MCP abgefragt werden kann.

In diesem Talk gehen wir zusammen durch alle diese Projekte mit Live-Demos und schauen, was geklappt hat und was nicht. DIY for the win!
