Tech Events in North Tyneside

Curious about AI but not sure where to start? Come along to a relaxed local evening in Whitley Bay, where we'll explain in plain language how free AI tools can help with safety and everyday life.
Free. No device required. Drop-ins welcome. Bring a phone or laptop if you like, but there's nothing to set up and nothing you need to do on the night. Just sit back, watch and ask questions. You'll go home with ideas to try in your own time.
What we'll show you
Examine suspicious emails and text messages. We'll look at warning signs, AI's limitations and how to check with a trusted source. AI cannot reliably decide whether a message is safe. We'll also cover requests for verification codes or remote access to your phone or computer.
Get helpful answers to everyday questions. Make sense of a confusing letter, look something up or learn something new.
Write, plan, compare and solve problems. Write an email, plan a trip, compare options or talk through a tricky decision.
Everyone welcome
You don't need any experience, and there's no jargon. Coming on your own is absolutely fine, and you're welcome to bring a friend or relative.
Food and drinks are available to buy from Bricks & Brews, so arrive a little early if you'd like to grab something. Buying anything is entirely optional.
We're planning to run these sessions every couple of months, so there'll be chances to come back and keep learning.
Know someone who worries about scam messages or wants to understand AI? Send them this.

Working on a side hustle, freelancing, or thinking about starting something? Come along to a relaxed evening at Bricks & Brews, Whitley Bay, to meet other people doing the same and get practical with AI.

Free. Drop-ins welcome.

What happens on the night

Meet other builders. We're giving more of the evening to networking this time. Find out what everyone's working on, swap ideas, get honest feedback and meet people worth staying in touch with.

A short talk. Practical ways to use free AI tools to save time, find customers and get things done, plus a 5-day challenge to help you get your idea moving.

Build something. Bring a laptop if you have one and get hands-on help with your next step, whether that's a landing page, a social post or a simple automation.

Who it's for

Side-hustlers, freelancers, makers and small business owners, whether you're just starting out or already up and running. No coding or AI experience needed. Coming on your own is absolutely fine.

Food and drinks are available to buy from Bricks & Brews. Buying anything is entirely optional.
