Help, I Accidentally Built a Distributed Computer with S-Expressions
A slightly unusual one for a Go meetup — a deep dive into Rust, distributed computing, and S-expressions. Because why not? 😄

What started as an SRE agent for monitoring distributed systems slowly evolved into something much bigger. This talk follows that journey, from agent loops and structured execution to S-expressions, capability-based security, DKG, and a Rust/WASM runtime, and how those pieces accidentally started to look a lot like a distributed computer.

Roadmaps Conference is back —
on 26 September 2026 at ICT Hub in Belgrade!

Roadmaps is the annual conference of the Serbian Product Community, bringing together people who build, shape and lead digital products — Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, Founders, Business Leaders and everyone curious about how technology is changing the way we work.

This year, we're taking a closer look at the tectonic shifts AI is creating in digital product development.
AI isn't just changing the tools we use. It's changing how products are discovered and built, how companies create value, how teams are organized, and what it means to lead product organizations.

Throughout the day, we'll explore questions such as:

Kotlin is turning 15, and we're throwing a party to celebrate! 🎉
Join us on 29th September for an evening of food, drinks and good company with the Kotlin community in Belgrade - plus a technical talk on one of the most practical challenges facing multiplatform teams today: making Kotlin and Swift actually work together in real production apps.

Aleksa Simić - Kotlin–Swift Interoperability: Lessons from Real Projects

About four years ago, Aleksa's team started adopting Kotlin Multiplatform on real client projects. This talk is the story of what happened next - told from the perspective of the people who had to live with the results: the iOS developers.
We'll look at how Kotlin–Swift interop actually works under the hood, and at the challenges it brings when shared Kotlin code meets a native iOS codebase. Aleksa will walk us through the concrete problems his iOS team ran into when consuming the generated APIs, the tools and workarounds they adopted to streamline the iOS development experience, and how that setup evolved over the past four years - from the early rough edges to where they are today.
If you're using KMP in an existing iOS and Android app, or planning to introduce it gradually, this is a chance to learn from four years of real-world experience rather than a hello-world demo.

About our speaker
Aleksa Simić is CTO and co-founder of Aetherius, a company that builds mobile applications for clients around the world. He started his career as an iOS developer and spent over 8 years working primarily on native iOS applications, before shifting his focus to Kotlin Multiplatform. Today he leads the mobile team and works on projects that combine native and KMP approaches, with a particular focus on gradually integrating shared code into existing iOS and Android applications.
Through his work on enterprise projects, Aleksa has focused extensively on the challenges and specifics of Kotlin–Swift interoperability, and on how it can be best leveraged.

The clinical execution of external beam radiation therapy functions as a multi-stage systems pipeline, governed by sequential physical processes and continuous quality-assurance feedback. As radiation oncology has moved from simple two-dimensional dose lookups to high-resolution 3D volumetric imaging, model-based dose engines, and multi-leaf collimation, it has become an increasingly data-intensive and computationally demanding discipline. Yet the algorithmic foundations of this workflow remain largely siloed within medical physics literature, obscuring direct links to classical computer science.

This lecture provides an interdisciplinary bridge between oncology, radiation physics, and theoretical computer science. By mapping each sequential stage of the clinical radiotherapy workflow — from patient intake to plan validation — onto classical data structures and algorithms (DSA), we demonstrate how the foundational concepts of standard computer science curricula drive life-saving clinical systems.
