Save the Date: 11 November 2026 @ IT University Copenhagen! Join us for an afternoon of connecting with Scala aficionados in Copenhagen! We're excited to bring together local Scala enthusiasts, from seasoned developers to those thinking of starting and exploring the language.

This time we will be hosted at the IT University Copenhagen (ITU). They also have been lecturing Scala directly for many years (> 10 years) in the course Advanced Programming. For some among us, this is where their Scala journey started and will start.

Participate: At the event, there are several ways to participate

• randomly talk to someone, or join a discussion
• attend the talks
• ask questions
• connect with the organizers, share ideas

Don't worry if you cannot make the whole program! If your schedule is tight and you can only join for one part feel welcome to do so.

Program: The core program comprises of academic talks by ITU faculty members Andrzej Wąsowski and Debasmita Lohar, accompanied by presentations of Copenhagen-metro based companies heavy on Scala (Famly, Dixa, Zeta, and maybe a few more).

NixOS is a Linux distribution with a unique approach to package and configuration management. Built on top of the Nix package manager ( nixos.org/nix ), it is completely declarative, makes upgrading systems reliable, and has many other advantages ( nixos.org/nixos/about.html ).

NixOS has a completely declarative approach to configuration management: you write a specification of the desired configuration of your system in NixOS’s modular language, and NixOS takes care of making it happen.
Reliable
NixOS has atomic upgrades and rollbacks. It’s always safe to try an upgrade or configuration change: if things go wrong, you can always roll back to the previous configuration.
