Women in 3D Printing - Turku

What happens when 3D printing becomes an artist’s tool?

For our next Women in 3D Printing – Turku Chapter meetup, we are taking a slightly different direction and looking at 3D printing through the eyes of an artist.

We will be joined online by artist Satu-Minna Suorajärvi from 3D Addict Oy, who will share her work, experiences and how she uses 3D printing as part of her artistic practice.

A nice chance to step outside the usual engineering and manufacturing perspective and see what happens when technology meets art and creativity.

Most IaC tools introduce a second runtime, proprietary DSLs, and brittle state files. But if you run Kubernetes, you already have a declarative control plane for your infrastructure.
This session shows how to manage cloud and baremetal platforms using standard CNCF tools: Flux CD, Cluster API (CAPI), cloud operators, and SOPS. We walk through a GitOps monorepo pattern that provisions clusters and cloud resources with zero HCL and zero state files directly from your laptop.
19:30 - 20:00 MetaPod: Remotely attesting large Kubernetes applications - Lachlan Gunn @ Aalto university, ELASTIC Project
A microservice application deployed using confidential computing runs each instance of a service in a hardware-protected virtual machine, that can prove its state to remote parties using attestation. However, remote attestation can only prove the state of individual virtual machines, and not the application as a whole when it is spread across many physical hosts. We have developed MetaPod, a system that combines the remote attestation evidence from the component pods of a Kubernetes application to ensure the correctness not only of the individual pods in an application, but that they have been correctly orchestrated as an entire MetaPod application.

From Silicon Valley to Helsinki: What Finnish Founders Learned in the AI Capital

Finnish founders who've been in the thick of the San Francisco AI scene share what they saw, what they learned, and what it means for building here.

The Bay Area is where the AI hype machine runs loudest – but what's real and what's noise? Finnish founders who've spent time in the Silicon Valley ecosystem are coming back with perspectives that's hard to get from a LinkedIn feed.

AI Collective Finland is bringing together founders from Switch, Homie and Flow AI – companies that have been on the ground in San Francisco – for an evening of honest conversation about what the SF AI scene actually looks like up close, and what Finnish builders can take from it.

Hands-on Splunk workshop for beginners to explore data, build searches, create dashboards and discover practical use cases.

Ready to dive into the world of Splunk? Join us for Splunk4Rookies, an in-person workshop where you'll get hands-on experience with Splunk's core features. Participants will work in a guided lab environment to add and analyse data, run searches, create a simple Splunk app, and build an interactive dashboard.

The session is designed for beginners with little or no previous Splunk experience and introduces practical use cases across IT operations, security, DevOps, observability, log management and business analytics. It is a small, practical workshop rather than a general training course, with a focus on helping participants understand where Splunk could bring value in their own organisation.

Splunk4Rookies is particularly suitable for organisations that are:

• Considering or evaluating Splunk
• Looking to improve visibility across applications, infrastructure or cloud environments
• Exploring SIEM or security monitoring solutions
• Developing observability or log management capabilities

Veli-Matti "Vellu" Väärälä has been working with Splunk for over ten years. He's a Senior Splunk Consultant at WeAre Solutions, an Elite Splunk Partner, and holds more Splunk certifications than he likes to count.

His day job is working directly with enterprise customers, designing environments, fixing ones that grew too fast, and helping organisations understand what their data is actually doing. The technical part, he'll tell you, is usually the easy part.
He's delivered Splunk training before. He knows where the confusing bits are. That's actually useful.

For the workshop, his job is simpler: to help you connect what you see in the lab with what you'd actually use it for in the real world.

The #GamesUR Conference is the annual gathering of the Games User Research community — for practitioners working across console, PC, mobile, and academia. We also welcome anyone who wants to know more about the games user research discipline. This event is run by volunteers from the IGDA Games User Research SIG, with support from IGDA and IGDA Finland. This year, we will have a lineup of incredible Games User Research talks across 2 days.

Finland’s deepest Azure conference. Two days. World-class speakers. www.iglooconf.fi

IglooConf is a two-day conference for all things Azure. This is our 7th IglooConf, held in the land of never-ending snow and darkness.

We will bring ~20 world-class speakers to Helsinki, Finland in the beginning of February, when its snowy and dark. Our audience is hungry for everything, from Data & AI to Development to DevOps to Security and all things Azure.

IglooConf is the biggest Azure-only conference in Finland, and very well regarded by the attendees and past speakers, with survey averages ranging between 4,5-4,7 out of 5 yearly. The full conference will be both streamed online (for free) and provided through our Youtube channel for later viewing.

Our goal is to spread your know-how and expertise, and therefore the event is non-profit, with a relatively small entrance fee between 300 and 550 euros (early bird to regular).

Join us in Leaderboard 3.0, a free one-day leadership conference held on February 5th, 2027, in Tampere, bringing together professionals, students, and leaders from the game industry and adjacent creative fields.

The event focuses on contemporary leadership challenges, practical tools, and human-centered approaches to working in creative, knowledge-intensive industries. The program is built around curated panel discussions featuring invited guests from Finland and abroad, offering experience-based insights.

Leaderboard 3.0 runs two parallel tracks: one aimed at industry professionals and leaders, and another designed for university students and early-career developers focusing on self-leadership and employability.

Panelists and the venue will be announced later.
