🇫🇮 Tech Events in Finland

Helsinki drives Finland's tech-event calendar, most famously via Slush, alongside year-round communities in product, games, and AI, with Tampere, Oulu (5G, embedded), and Turku running their own scenes. Active cities on Brainberg right now include Helsinki, Tampere, and Espoo. Brainberg aggregates listings from multiple event platforms and community calendars into a single European feed, so the full schedule for the country shows up in one chronological view instead of spread across separate platforms.

What's new in WordPress 7.0?

Helsinki, 🇫🇮 Finland

The WordPress Helsinki meetup group aims to bring people together of all skill levels, from beginners to WordPress professionals. WordPress Helsinki is purely organised by community volunteers, and operates under the WordPress code of conduct.

This month, we welcome Vladimir Melnychenko to speak about WordPress 7.0 update.

WordPress 7.0 is just around the corner, with its official release scheduled for April 9, 2026 (and then moved). In this meetup, we’ll take a first look at what WordPress 7.0 brings to the ecosystem. Together, we’ll explore the most important new features, improvements to the block editor and site editing experience, performance enhancements, and updates that developers, designers, and content creators should know about. We’ll also discuss what these changes mean for existing sites, themes, and plugins.

Vladimir is a WordPress enthusiast. He was raised in Ukraine, and now lives in Finland. He got acquainted with WordPress in 2012 as a technical support representative and has been in love with it ever since. Vladimir works at Valve One as a WordPress developer, building various websites, and he believes that the best website is the one that is constantly improving.

See you there!

From Fragile to Flexible: Migrating to AWS Account Factory for Terraform
Managing hundreds of AWS accounts is no small task—especially when the tooling behind it is brittle and officially unsupported. In this session, you’ll hear how SOK AWS Platform team is migrating from an aging deployment platform to AWS Account Factory for Terraform (AFT), the modern, officially supported way to manage AWS accounts at scale.

Session will cover the journey of importing existing accounts from CloudFormation into Terraform, lessons learned along the way, and how AFT helps to improve consistency, automation, and long-term maintainability. You'll walk away with practical insights into AFT, migration patterns, and pitfalls to avoid.

Ari Luokkala
Ari is a Principal Cloud Engineer at SOK, based in Helsinki. He works in the SOK AWS Platform team, where they focus on platform development and collaborate closely with development teams.
He’s passionate about cloud technology, driven by curiosity, and a strong believer in continuous learning. Outside of work, you'll most often find him enjoying sports or fishing.

Markus Toivakka
Markus is a hands-on Cloud Architect at the SOK AWS Platform Team. Once a strong advocate of CloudFormation over Terraform (those days are gone), he since has gathered plenty of experience from managing multi-account AWS environments that he’s excited to share.

Meetup – The meetup takes place at Gofore's Tampere office. There will be someone to greet you at the door when the event start and a sign with a phone number for latecomers.

Luo esityksiä, jotka jäävät mieleen - Create presentations that leave a lasting impression

Helsinki, 🇫🇮 Finland

Työpajat toteutetaan osana LUT-yliopiston pro gradu -tutkielmaa, jonka aiheena on Generatiivisen tekoälyn hyödyntäminen B2B-myyntiprosessin vaiheissa. Tilaisuudet nauhoitetaan tutkimustarkoituksessa, ja aineisto käsitellään luottamuksellisesti ja anonymisoituna hyvän tutkimuseettisen käytännön mukaisesti. Osallistuminen on vapaaehtoista, ja voit keskeyttää osallistumisesi milloin tahansa.

Do you want to create presentations that truly stand out and engage your audience? In this workshop, you’ll learn how generative AI can help you craft a clear message, develop visuals, and tell a compelling story before, during, and after your presentation. At the same time, you’ll learn how to tailor your presentations to different target audiences.

Join us for a free workshop in Kalasatama, Helsinki. The workshop is designed for professionals who want to develop their presentation skills with the help of AI. No prior experience is required.

The workshop will be led by Heidi (Sales Manager), with Tanja and Michael serving as AI Change Coaches. The session begins with an overview of the most common presentation challenges (e.g., cluttered slides, unclear storytelling, maintaining audience engagement). After that, we’ll work together to build a new approach to presentations: from structure and content to visuals and delivery style.

The workshop is hands-on and participatory. You’ll work with concrete examples supported by AI coaches, and you’ll leave with ready-to-use templates and ideas that you can apply immediately in your own work.

You’ll need a laptop and a generative AI tool. It is recommended that you have Microsoft Copilot available, as the training will be conducted using it. No separate license is required in the M365 environment, but Copilot Chat must be in use within your organization.

The workshops are being conducted as part of a master’s thesis at LUT** **University on the topic Utilizing Generative AI in the Stages of the B2B Sales Process. The sessions will be recorded for research purposes, and the material will be handled confidentially and anonymously in accordance with good research ethics. Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time.

Please be advised: Unfortunately, space is very limited at these community events and we can not always accept everyone we would like to. If you are not accepted to this event, please keep applying! We appreciate your application tremendously and we are looking forward to seeing you at a future event very soon!

Muuta myyntidata ennakoiviksi päätöksiksi - Turn sales data into proactive decisions

Helsinki, 🇫🇮 Finland

Työskentelet hands-on AI muutosvalmentajien tukemana todellisten esimerkkien parissa, jotta voit soveltaa oppimaasi heti ja saat mukaasi konkreettisia malleja myynnin analytiikan kehittämiseen omassa työssäsi.

Sales data is everywhere - but turning numbers into clear insights and timely actions is often a challenge. In this workshop, you’ll learn how AI-powered solutions can help you better understand sales figures, identify trends early on, and act proactively instead of reacting too late.

Join us for a free workshop in Kalasatama, Helsinki. The workshop is designed for sales and business professionals interested in data-driven decision-making and leveraging AI - no prior experience is required.

The workshop will be led by Heidi (Sales Manager), with Tanja and Michael joining as AI change coaches. The session begins with an overview of key challenges in sales analytics, such as overloaded reports, delayed insights, and missed opportunities. After that, we’ll explore how AI can transform sales analytics - from automated insights to forecasts, alerts, and decision support.

The workshop is practical and interactive. You’ll work hands-on with real-world examples, supported by AI transformation coaches, so you can apply what you’ve learned immediately and take home concrete models for developing sales analytics in your own work.
